If you’ve been pondering on doing bridal portraits or not, this is your sign to make a choice. Why would you book bridal portraits as opposed to just taking pictures on your wedding day? Well, this answer can go both ways and I’m rooting for whatever makes you happiest, but here’s the schtick from a wedding photographer here on Oahu!
First, if you’re looking to do your bride and groom pictures on your wedding day, there’s a few things to consider. How overwhelmed will you be that day? If you feel like there’s simply too much happening, you can either see the bridal portraits as a getaway from the wedding for an hour or you could see it as another thing taking an hour away from spending time with everyone who came out to the ceremony. This answer completely depends on the person, so it’s up to you. Furthermore, you’ll already have your makeup and hair done, so you’ll already be glammed up.
However, if you’re looking to have your bridal portraits elsewhere, that’s another pro right there. You can have your bride and groom portraits taken somewhere else aside from the venue and have more adventurous options laid out in front of you. But like mentioned before, hair and make up. You’ll either have to do your own hair and makeup for your bridal portraits or hire another (or the same) makeup artist to redo your wedding makeup, which isn’t the most cost-friendly option.
Having a separate photoshoot for your bride and groom portraits really depends on the person as well. So if you want to have your pictures done on your wedding day and get an hour away from the chaos, then have them on your wedding day. But if you want to spend as much time with your friends and family and have even more intimate but laid-back time with your other half, then book bridal portraits! Choose what works for you.
