Elopements hold my entire heart. Being able to witness two people pursue their love on the down low or even in complete secret is such a thrilling and incredible experience. To be so in love with one another, and chase that feeling of adventure together—what a magical time it has to be.
Beth and Grant elope together in Oahu on a cloudy and insane day. If you know anything about Hawaii, it’s that we have tsunami warnings every now and then. This was the famous day this summer of 2025 with the tsunami warning that had the entire island set in panic and traffic maxed out to the walls. Not to mention, these two had initially wanted to elope at another scenic part of the island but decided to be close to their rental whilst the warning ensued. Amongst the chaos, these two had each other and decided to pivot and have their ceremony near their rental with loved ones nearby. And luckily, no tsunami had wrecked the island.
The two exchanged vows in the fields. The day was cloudy and windy… almost like the island was setting this day up for the most romantic and theatrical wedding with the tsunami warning in play. After their vows and a lei-exchange, which is a traditional Hawaiian wedding tradition, they sealed their love with a kiss. Friends and family cheering them on, they cheesed so hard and we captured some sweet bride and groom pictures!
