Everything about this day was perfect… the weather, the sun was shining, the waves were calm, and it was another gorgeous day in Oahu, Hawaii. Today, the Merced family decided to have a photo session to have their pictures taken all together, and so we made it happen! We ventured out to a small, lovely beach somewhere in the island and had a little adventure.
We began taking pictures of everyone in pairings. Absolutely obsessed with the coordinating outfits here. In Hawaii, we have something called “aloha attire,” which is semi-formal clothing that has aloha print on it and is familiar with the local community. The men wore button up shirts that are in tune or closely related to aloha attire, and the women all wore neutral-colored dresses. Coordinating outfits > matching outfits. Anyone else feel the same?
Something special about this shoot is that towards the end, we got a proposal! Proposals are such a special thing to be a part of and capture, and this was no different. The look of surprise, the excitement in the air, the whispers and smiles… it’s the best feeling. Guess what? She said yes!
Huge congratulations to the now-engaged couple and thank you for letting me be a part of something so wonderful. This was one such a fun family shoot. A favorite picture from this is when the proposal is happening and you can see strangers crowding on the right-hand corner trying to stand out of the way (scroll down), haha.
