Modern romantic wedding at La Pietra in Honolulu, Hawaii! This was the most special of them all because the bride was my sister and I couldn’t be more thrilled to capture such precious moments!
Earlier in April, Jyssel and Ekolu had their beautiful wedding at the foot of the iconic Diamond Head. La Pietra (which is also a girl’s academy) was such a gorgeous venue to shoot at with so many details to note. The lush greenery and manicured lawn, fountains large and small, European-like statues over the property, and so much more. To add on, the wedding brought in elegant touches like the anthurium wedding arch, parasols for the women, and gold-framed mirrors. Everything about this day all came together so perfectly!
The first look had to be one of the funniest moments of the day. With a small prank on the groom with one of his close friends standing in as the bride, we all had a laugh. Following the real first look, the timeless bridal portraits came. Under the veil shots, grandeur stair portraits, and even some pictures in the bride’s cocktail dress—it was all so dreamy.
The ceremony was sweet and full of love. With all the close friends and family present, Jyssel and Ekolu sealed their new marriage with a kiss. Cocktail hour followed with friends and family mingling, and after that, the outdoor reception! The bridal party entrance was definitely a show. I choreographed some small dances for the bride and groom to make their entrance after the bridesmaids and groomsmen which then led into their intimate first dance! The night was a blur with lots of fun dancing and catching up with everyone. Jyssel and Ekolu’s wedding was definitely a night to remember and as Jyssel’s sister, I could not be more ecstatic to capture a wedding.
