What makes for a better family photo session than having both Hawaiian mountains in the background and the beach not even a minute away? Kualoa Beach is the perfect place to have a photoshoot, whether that’s for family pics, maternities, or even on the other side of the road is the ranch! The ranch is also the perfect setting for a wedding, with Mokolii Island (famously known as Chinaman’s Hat) in the background.
On this day, I came out here with the Mora and Barnes family who wanted to take some pics of the parents and little ones. It was a bit early out as we wanted to get the sunrise lighting. Also, it happened to be a little more cloudy this day, so the wasn’t too bright for the shoot, which is perfect!
Everyone wore something coordinating to each other—light colors and included something white and green. Everyone looked spectacular and the kids were so adorable and were awesome for their own pictures! There was lots of laughter during the pose prompts, which is right in line of what I needed to get some genuine feel-good smiles from everyone.
The best part about this area is that there’s a nice open field to take pictures in at the beginning and then we can shuffle over to the water… personally, the kids love this part because after all the pictures, they can play in the water! Make a day out of it!
