A fun photoshoot happens when people change it up… instead of Oahu beaches, let’s traverse to the fields and mountains for a little switch up!
When I say that the best thing you can do for a photographer is come back, we mean it! This is Kiana and Kaniala, and I’ve known them since forever! I got capture their first portraits back in 2021… and since them, almost every year! It’s such a privilege to see these two celebrate their love so fondly and their happiness is so contagious. We always have a good time taking pictures together, and this session was no exception.
We went out to East Honolulu for this photoshoot. The terrain out there is just so unique. The mountains in the background, these dry golden fields—what a scene! Something so fun about this setting for their photoshoot is that Kiana’s boots totally match the vibes out here. Some fun leather cowgirl boots and the denim dress; almost like a midwestern themed photoshoot!
If you didn’t know, which side you wear the pua (flower) in your ear matters in Hawaii! If you wear the pua on the left ear, it means you are married or taken. And if you wear it in your right ear, it means you’re available and/or single! Here, you can see Kiana wearing her flower in her left ear, meaning she is unavailable because she’s with her beloved! These two are so so cute!
